Within Jiannanchun's vast portfolio, "Jinjiannan" is the core series for the wider public; and one bottle carrying the character "Tang" (Tang dynasty) is especially storied — Jinjiannan Tangjiao. A single character, "cellar," hides a thousand years of time in the bottle.
I. What Is a "Tang Cellar": A Living Cellar of a Thousand Years
"Tangjiao" points to the living cellars that Jiannanchun has passed down for a millennium. In Mianzhu, ancient cellars have been used continuously, generation after generation — the microbial communities in the pit mud are "living relics" more precious than any equipment. Among Jiannanchun's cellars stand the roughly 1,500-year-old "Tianyi Laohao," along with living cellars dug and used continuously through successive dynasties.
"A living cellar of a thousand years" — the cellar is alive, the microbes are alive, and the wine it makes is alive. These words are Jinjiannan Tangjiao's most honest credential.
II. Six Grains United: The Flavor Skeleton of Nongxiang
Jinjiannan Tangjiao is made from six grains: water, sorghum, wheat, rice, glutinous rice, corn and barley. Multi-grain blending is the classic code of Sichuan-style nongxiang: sorghum gives aroma, corn gives sweetness, rice gives cleanliness, glutinous rice gives softness, wheat gives structure, and barley gives bite — each grain plays its part, together producing the signature style of "rich and fragrant, soft and mellow, clean and crisp, with a long lingering finish."
Water, sorghum, wheat, rice, glutinous rice, corn and barley — six grains united, a fragrance to remember. A solid-state fermented baijiu produced to the Q/JNC0003S (Premium Grade) standard.
III. Premium-Grade Solid-State: The Confidence of Q/JNC0003S
Under product type, the label reads: solid-state fermented baijiu. This means it follows the most traditional and laborious path in Chinese baijiu — pure-grain solid-state fermentation and distillation, with no added edible alcohol or flavoring. And the Q/JNC0003S (Premium Grade) company standard demands even more from the liquid.
"Premium grade" lands in the glass as a crystal-clear body, an intense compound aroma the moment the bottle opens, a soft entry, a crisp mid-palate, and a clean finish.
IV. Raise a Glass and Taste Past and Present
Jinjiannan Tangjiao comes in 500mL bottles with alcohol content options of 52% vol, 46% vol, 42% vol and 38% vol — 52 degrees is the classic nongxiang choice, while the lower-proof editions are smoother and better suited to lively gatherings.
