I. 1,500 Years, from the Southern Qi to Today
Mianzhu's brewing history reaches back to the Southern Qi dynasty (5th century AD) β more than 1,500 years. In the Tang dynasty, the local masterpiece 'Jiannan Shaochun' was designated an imperial tribute wine and recorded in the histories β 'the imperial wine of the Tang court, the Jiannanchun of today' speaks of this unbroken lineage.
With its distinctive style of 'rich aroma, pure elegance, mellow softness and crisp refreshment', Jiannanchun is hailed as the benchmark of nongxiang baijiu. It has been named a 'China Famous Wine' three times and stands among Sichuan's 'Six Golden Flowers'.
'Tianyi Laohao' is the ancient brewing workshop preserved by Jiannanchun, founded in the Kangxi era of the Qing dynasty (1662) and still brewing continuously for over 360 years β recognized as a national-level cultural relic. The ancient pit mud, rich in hundreds of beneficial microbes, is the soul of Jiannanchun's flavor and a living artifact.
