Les 3 Cèdres Edmond de Rothschild Bordeaux Supérieur 2020 comes from limestone-clay slopes on Bordeaux's right bank, produced by Compagnie Vinicole Baron Edmond de Rothschild — a fine French import available through Mingpinhui.
I. Rothschild: A Family That Travels with Wine
Rothschild is one of Europe's most storied names — and in the world of wine, the family carries equal weight, with estates in Bordeaux, Napa Valley and other renowned regions. The family's winemaking philosophy has passed from generation to generation: respect the terroir, pursue excellence.
Les 3 Cèdres is that philosophy in a Bordeaux expression. "Les 3 Cèdres" means "The Three Cedars" — the vineyard encircled by three cedar trees bears the imprint of both terroir and family.
II. Bordeaux Terroir: Old Vines on Limestone Clay
The vineyard lies on limestone-clay slopes on the right bank with excellent drainage. This soil retains water well and is rich in minerals, giving the wine a distinctive minerality and elegance — and right-bank clay is particularly suited to Merlot.
The vines average 25 years of age, planted at 5,500 vines per hectare, pruned in the double Guyot method with natural grass cover between rows. Harvest begins in October, by hand — every bunch picked at its peak of ripeness.
III. The Classic Right-Bank Blend: The 60/20/20 Formula
- 60% Merlot — roundness and body; the soul grape of the right bank;
- 20% Cabernet Sauvignon — structure and backbone;
- 20% Cabernet Franc — aromatic lift and elegance.
The wine is aged for 12 months in stainless steel tanks, preserving pure fruit; annual production is a mere 16,000 bottles — each one a study in restraint and care.

IV. Tasting Notes: Right-Bank Elegance in a Glass
Color: deep garnet. Aroma: bright and aromatic — fresh fruit and wood, unfolding hints of vanilla on contact with air. Palate: elegant, with tannins wrapped in refined acidity and a long, fruit-laden finish. This is a Bordeaux that is "elegant yet structured" — the first sip is fruit, the second is terroir, the third is time.
V. Three Tables

Plush tannins and meaty protein — a classic marriage.
Cheese Boards
Fruit and creamy richness echo each other endlessly.
Chinese Feasts
Cabernet structure meets the rich, savory depth of Chinese cuisine.
