Guizhou Wuyou Distillery (Group) Co., Ltd., founded in 1983, is an integrated producer and seller of baijiu on the scenic banks of the Chishui River in Maotai town — the heartland of China's sauce-aroma (jiangxiang) baijiu, directly across the river from the Maotai distillery. For over four decades, it has been writing its own legend along this "River of Fine Wine".
I. The Chishui River: Jiangxiang's Golden Coordinates
Anyone who knows jiangxiang knows the weight of the Chishui River. Flowing from Yunnan through the mountains of northern Guizhou, it cradles the very core of China's sauce-aroma production. Maotai town is its most brilliant stop — purple soils, a temperate climate and a microbial community that hangs in the air year-round create a brewing environment that cannot be replicated anywhere else.
Wuyou sits across the river from Maotai itself. The same water, the same air — every jar born here starts from the golden coordinates of jiangxiang.
II. 1983: The Starting Point
In 1983, as China's reform and opening-up began, Wuyou planted its roots in Maotai town. From a small workshop to a modern group with three estates — Wuyouyuan, Wuyoushan and Wuyougu, covering over 350 mu and producing more than 7,000 tonnes of premium Daqu jiangxiang baijiu annually — it has earned the industry's nickname of "the second legend of Maotai town".
"Wuyou" means "without worries" — a name that is also a brewer's promise: every glass should bring peace of mind.

III. 12987: The Craft Code of Jiangxiang
Jiangxiang brewing is the most intricate of all baijiu crafts. Wuyou follows the classic Daqu jiangxiang process: one production cycle per year, two rounds of grain input, nine steamings, eight fermentations and seven distillations — known in the industry as "12987".
Qu (starter) is made at the Dragon Boat Festival, grain is cast in at the Double Ninth Festival — following the rhythm of nature. Base spirits age in traditional clay jars, maturing slowly in a micro-oxygen environment. From grain to bottle, a proper jiangxiang demands years of patience. Nothing can be rushed, nothing omitted — that is the charm of the style, and the persistence of Wuyou.
IV. Four Series: A Flavor for Every Occasion
Four decades of craft have settled into four product lines: Zunzhi (Supreme), Zhizhen (Supreme Essence), Tairan (Serene) and Wuyou Wedding Wine — from high-end tasting to festive banquets.
Among them, Wuyou Jiangxiang · Zhizhen is the representative bottle on the Mingpinhui platform: a classic 53% vol, 500mL jiangxiang with a full body and pronounced sauce aroma — a safe and distinguished choice for business dinners and gifts to elders alike.
V. Three Cities, One Chain: A New Chapter
In 2024, Wuyou signed a distribution agreement with Shejiantai Group at the "Liquor Industry Excellence Center" headquarters in Chengdu, launching a "Guizhou–Chengdu–Mianzhu" three-city alliance: Wuyou supports Shejiantai with sales, branding and resources, while Shejiantai serves as an authorized Wuyou distributor and provides brewing-equipment technology and 5G big-data platform support.
A cross-province liquor ecosystem is carrying the story of Wuyou ever further.
