Jinjian Tequ is the honour student of the Jinjian family. In the traditional grading system, "Tequ" (special distillate) meant a higher standard of grain and stricter craft. Jinjian Tequ selects quality sorghum, wheat, rice, glutinous rice and corn as its main grains, brews with glacier mineral water low in sodium and rich in strontium, and follows the traditional techniques of Jiannanchun. Clean, elegant, carefully brewed.
1、The name "Te Qu", grade and craft
In the memory of older drinkers, "Tequ, Touqu, Erqu" were the grade marks of baijiu quality — and Tequ stood at the top, meaning the distillery's best craft and best grain. Today the old vocabulary has simplified, but the weight of "Tequ" on the label has not diminished by a single gram.
Jinjian Tequ earns the name: selected quality sorghum, wheat, rice, glutinous rice and corn, brewed by traditional Jiannanchun techniques — "carefully brewed" is written into its slogan and into every step of the process.
Brewed with glacier mineral water low in sodium and rich in strontium — behind Mianzhu rise the Jiuding Mountains; their glacier meltwater filters through ancient rock, picking up beneficial strontium while staying low in sodium. Water like this gives the spirit a clean, sweet body and a comfortable finish.
2、Glacier water, a recipe that cannot be copied
Chinese baijiu says: water is the blood of the wine. The same grain, the same craft — change the water, and the flavour changes completely.
Jinjian Tequ is brewed with glacier mineral water low in sodium and rich in strontium: meltwater of the Jiuding snows, filtered through the rock, rich in minerals. Strontium is a beneficial trace element; low sodium means a cleaner, fresher palate. A spirit brewed with such water is clear, sweet and elegant — a natural endowment of the golden region, and a code that cannot be copied.
And the history of Mianzhu gives this water its depth of time: as early as the Tang dynasty, Mianzhu wine entered the imperial court as "Jiannan Shaochun", recorded in the Book of Tang. A thousand years on, today's Jinjian Tequ drinks from the same soil and the same unbroken craft.
3、Traditional craft, one unbroken line
Good water is the foundation; craft is the soul. Jinjian Tequ follows the traditional techniques of Jiannanchun — from starter-making and fermentation to distillation and ageing, the whole solid-state system passed down the generations.
What makes this craft special is its patience: the starter must ripen, the grain must ferment fully, the spirit must age enough. This refusal to hurry gives Jinjian Tequ its depth beneath the cleanness — elegant on the surface, with a backbone of its own.
